E-sign: send tenants a document to sign

Overview of the e-sign feature: what it does, where it lives, recipient limits, and current preview pricing.

Written by Oliver Chiang

E-sign lets you upload a PDF (such as a lease agreement) and request electronic signatures from your tenants without leaving Landlord Studio. This guide explains what e-sign does, where to find it, and the limits to be aware of in the current preview.

What you need to know

  • E-sign is free during preview. Pricing will be confirmed after the preview ends.

  • Each request can include up to 20 recipients.

  • The audit trail (signer name, email, IP address, timestamp, etc) is embedded in the signed PDF. There is no separate certificate to download.

  • E-sign lives on each property under the "Documents" tab, on the "Lease documents" sub tab.

  • Recipients must sign through the Tenant Portal. They can use an existing Tenant Portal login if they have one.

Who does what

  • You (the landlord or agent): upload the document, choose recipients, and send the request. You can track signing progress, resend the request, or cancel it at any time.

  • Tenants (the recipients): receive an email titled "Your Signature Is Requested for [Property Address]", review the document, and sign electronically.

What happens after everyone signs

Once every recipient (including you) has signed, Landlord Studio completes the document and saves a final PDF copy, with each signature and the audit trail attached. The final copy will be sent to all signatories via email.

If you need help setting up an e-signature request or sharing the feature with a recipient, reach out via the in-app chat or at support@landlordstudio.com.
