The Documents tab in Landlord Studio allows you to securely store and manage important property-related and lease-specific documents in one place.

This feature ensures that lease agreements, certificates, and other essential files are easily accessible whenever needed.

Accessing the Documents Tab

To access the Documents tab:

  1. Navigate to your Properties list.

  2. Select the property you want to manage.

  3. Click on the Documents tab in the top navigation menu.

Document Categories

The Documents tab is divided into two sections:

1. Property Documents

  • Stores documents related to the property itself, such as:

    • Ownership records

    • Insurance

    • Property maintenance reports

    • Compliance certificates (e.g., gas safety, electrical inspections)

  • These documents are accessible across all leases for the property.

2. Lease Documents

  • Stores documents related to a specific lease, such as:

    • Lease agreements

    • Move-in/move-out inspection reports

    • Proof of renter insurance

    • Tenant correspondence

  • These documents are linked to the selected lease.

Uploading a Document

To upload a document:

  1. Navigate to either the Property Documents or Lease Documents section.

  2. Click the + New button.

  3. Select a file from your device and provide an optional description.

  4. Click Upload to save the document.

See How to Upload Documents to your Property for more detailed instructions.

Best Practices

  • Use clear file names and descriptions to easily identify documents.

  • Store lease agreements in the Lease Documents section for better organization.

By utilizing the Documents tab, landlords can ensure all essential files are organized and easily retrievable when needed.
