Keep your records organized and easily send emails and SMS messages to your tenants by adding/linking them to the relevant property and associating them with a historical, current, or upcoming lease.

This also allows you to invite your tenant to the tenant portal. From the tenant portal tenants can review their lease details, make rent payments online, and raise maintenance requests efficiently

Adding a Tenant to a Lease

1. Navigate to the Property

  • Log in to your Landlord Studio account.

  • Navigate to the relevant property via the left-hand menu.

2. Add a New Tenant

  • Make sure the correct lease is selected and then click on the + New button.

  • Select an existing tenant or add a new tenant by providing:

    • Tenant Name (required)

    • Email Address (required if online payments is enabled)

    • Phone Number (optional)

  • Click Save to add the tenant to the lease.

3. Send an Invitation

  • After adding the tenant, you can send an email invitation to the tenant to invite then to access the Tenant Portal.

  • Alternatively, you can invite the tenant to the Tenant Portal later by clicking on the three dots beside their name and selecting Invite Tenant.

Tenant Accepts the Invitation

  • The tenant will receive an email invitation with instructions to set up their Tenant Portal account.

  • They need to click the link in the email, create a password, and log in.

Managing Tenant Access

  • If a tenant hasn’t accepted the invitation, you can resend it from their profile.

  • You can remove a tenant’s access to the lease details by un-linking the tenant.

Best Practices

  • Ensure the tenant’s email is correct before sending the invitation.

  • Remind tenants to check their spam folder if they don’t receive the invitation.

  • Encourage tenants to use the portal for rent payments and communication.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage tenants in Landlord Studio and provide them with easy access to their lease information and payment options.
