What You Need To know
This feature is available in the US only.
Online Rent Collection gives tenants the ability to transfer rent directly into their landlord's bank account and set up recurring payments. They cannot at this time pay with a credit card.
⚠️ Note: Online rent collection with Stripe is currently in beta and may not be available to all users. Access is being gradually rolled out. If you don’t see this feature in your account, please contact our support team for more information or to request early access.

Setting Up Online Rent Collection
You can enable tenant payments for any or all of your properties using our online rent collection feature.
Step 1: Enable online rent collection for your lease
You can enable this feature when setting up a new property and lease, or by editing an existing lease.
To enable online rent collection, toggle the Online Rent Collection slider to YES on the lease setup page. Once enabled, you’ll have several options:
Collect deposit online?
Allow partial payments?
ACH and/or Card payments?
Who pays the payment processing fee?
⚠️ Important: For the security of our community, all users must complete a security verification process before online rent collection can be activated. We'll cover this in Step 2 below.
Step 2: Complete Security Verification
If this is your first time enabling online rent collection, you’ll need to complete a one-time security verification process powered by Stripe. Start by clicking the Verify Now button at the top of your property page.
The application process typically takes just 1–2 minutes to complete.
Once submitted, our team will review it, which may take up to 24 hours.
💡 Tip: You can fast-track your verification by joining our Facebook group.
Before you begin, be prepared to have the following:
A camera enabled device
An SMS enabled mobile phone
A valid government issued ID
The final step of verification requires securely connecting your bank account using the Stripe interface. This is the account where rental payments will be deposited.
📝 Note: You can add multiple bank accounts to Stripe, but only one can be connected at a time.
Once complete, our Compliance Team will review your application. You’ll receive an email notification when your verification is approved within 24 hours.
Step 3: Finalize lease setup
Once your verification is approved, you’re ready to complete the setup process.
On the Property Details page, follow the on screen instructions to finalize setup:
Add a bank account to the lease. Choose the account you connected during verification and click Save.
Add and invite your tenant to the Tenant Portal. A valid email address is required.
Once this is complete, your tenant will receive an email invitation with a unique link to set up their account and begin making payments.
📝 Note: If your tenant doesn’t receive the invitation or the link expires, you can resend it by clicking the Tenant Status Chip located under their name on the Property page.
That’s it! Once your tenant accepts the invitation and completes setup, their status will be updated automatically.
What Happens If the Security Verification Fails?
There are several reasons why the security verification might fail.
If your ID does not exactly match the personal details you entered.
You do not appear to be the owner of the ID
Additional information is required
To resolve this please try and resubmit your ID by revisiting the security verification page. If this still fails you can reach out to us at help@landlordstudio.com
