Before You Get Started
You must first be invited to complete a screening application by the landlord or property manager.
The report includes your ResidentScoreĀ®, Full Credit Report, Nationwide Criminal & Sex Offender Check, Rental & Eviction Related Proceedings (State-dependant), and Bankruptcies. (unavailable in New York).
Unless your landlord opts to pay for the report themselves or where state law dictates they must, you will be asked to pay at the end of the flow.
How To Complete A Tenant Screening Application
To get started you will first need to be invited to complete a screening application by the landlord or property manager. You will receive an email in your inbox with the invitation.
Step 1. Find the invite email in your inbox. Click on the "Start Application" button.
Step 2. You will be asked to set up an account with Landlord Studio. To do this create a password and then log in using the email address the invite was sent to.
Step 3. Select "Let's start" to begin the screening application.
Step 4. Fill in your personal details including your legal first name and last name, DOB, phone number, and SSN.
Note: Landlord Studio does not store your SSN.
Step 5. Enter your current address.
Step 6. Provide your current income & employment details. Make sure to include all income sources.
Step 7. You may be required to answer some security questions to verify your identity. Select the most appropriate answer from the dropdown lists and click continue.
Note: If consecutive failures occur, manual verification will be necessary. Please follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 8. For the final step of the process, you may be required to pay. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the payment. Once you have paid your application will be shared with our service provider TransUnion.
We will notify the landlord as soon as the report is ready and they will make their final tenant selection decision based on the report details.
